Nurse Jo is a Mental Health Nurse, Psychedelic Guide, Mentor, Consultant and Trainer. She has been a guide on studies for Psilocybin for Eating Disorders & Chronic Pain. As well as curating the musical backdrop for the current Psilocybin for Opioid Use Disorder study, at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London. Jo’s real love is naturalist work, with individuals and groups. She is a passionate advocate for accessible and safe psychedelic experiences. She shares her enthusiasm, skills, knowledge, and experience through The Fellowship of Psychonauts. An alliance of intention and vibrant multidisciplinary community of psychedelic practice, of which she is a founding member.
There are skills, knowledge, practices and values, embedded within Nursing and Midwifery that are directly applicable to the art and science of psychedelic sitting. This presentation highlights the 'Head, Heart and Hands' approach' to effective, safe, participant centred, multidisciplinary psychedelic space holding. Seeing this work, particularly when housed within community, as an act of sacred service. With the potential to have far reaching effects beyond any ceremony or dosing session. Nurse Jo encourages everyone working within the psychedelic space, or helping themselves, or others to navigate uncertain times and territory to ’Tap into their Inner Nurse"
How the practice of nursing can inform the art and science of psychedelic space holding

Darren Le Barron
'Psychedelics in the expanse: The Sacred Feminine'

Darren Le Baron is an educator specialising in mycology and psychedelic research, based between the UK and the Caribbean.
A knowledgeable and engaging speaker, Darren is passionate about sharing his research in ethnomycology, ancient African plant medicines, and their diverse applications. His work bridges ancestral wisdom and contemporary understanding, offering fresh perspectives on how these traditions can inform modern life. At its core, Darren’s work is about empowerment, informing and inspiring people from diverse backgrounds to navigate social challenges, reconnect with cultural knowledge systems, and engage in personal and community development through innovative, creative, and culturally grounded approaches.
He is a member and presenter at the London Psychedelic Society, a chair and committee member of Breaking Convention, and a regular speaker at international events including the Detroit Psychedelic Conference, All Things Fungi, Ozora, Noisily, and Lightning in a Bottle. Through these platforms and numerous gatherings worldwide, Darren shares his extensive research on psychedelics and their potential to support individual and collective wellbeing.
In this talk, Darren Le Baron explores the ancient and often overlooked role of the Sacred Feminine within psychedelic traditions, tracing its roots from African origins through Ancient Egypt and into cultures across the globe. From early plant medicine practices and goddess-centred cosmologies to the symbolic and lived expressions of figures like Isis and Hathor, Darren reveals how these knowledge systems were carried, adapted, and encoded through migration, trade, and storytelling.
Drawing compelling parallels from the spiritual technologies of ancient African societies to the archetypal independence of cowgirls and frontier culture, this talk highlights how the Sacred Feminine has persisted, shapeshifted, and re-emerged across time and geography. Through the lens of ethnomycology, mythology, and cultural history, Darren invites us to consider how these traditions have influenced modern psychedelic spaces, often without full recognition of their origins.
This is not just a historical exploration, but a living inquiry into how these ancient currents are resurfacing today, guiding conversations around healing, embodiment, creativity, and balance. As these threads come full circle, the talk offers a grounded yet expansive perspective on reclaiming ancestral knowledge and re-integrating the Sacred Feminine into contemporary life.
